Ahoy There ! 

The All Catalina Fleet 69 is a group of friendly and active sailors who love to sail in the Lake Travis and Austin, Texas area. We promote recreational sailing, fellowship, and skill development through regular meetings, cruises, and social activities. Membership is open to all persons who own, have owned, or have "an interest" in a keel sailboat of any length manufactured by Catalina Yachts.

There's a lot going on in Fleet 69! Here are the Upcoming Events for September:

  • Meeting: Thursday, September 9, 2010 (We meet on the second Thursday of every month except December.)
    • Program: First Aid for Sailors, by Dr Gary and Nurse Paulette
    • Location: Mangia's Pizza at 12001 Burnet Road @ Mopac.  Turn to port after you enter the restaurant. 
    • Times: 6:30 social, 7:00 eat, 7:30 meeting and program. 
    • We always order pizza and salad for the group and split costs (goal is $10 each). Beverages are extra. If you aren't hungry, just come and socialize. Talking is free! We'd love to see you.
  • Cruise: The Breakfast Cruise
    • When: Sunday, September 12 around 8 am in the morning
      • To maximize the fun, come the evening before, on Saturday, September 11, sit around the "campfire," and stay the night
    • Hosts: Clay, Joe, and Joy
    • Where: Arkansas Bend Park, north cove

      • This is what Arkansas Bend looked like at 659': photo. As of this writing, lake level is 668.8'.
    • What ? 
      • Hosts will provide coffee, juice, pancakes, syrup, eggs, bacon, sausage
      • Attendees may bring something to share, such as toppings or fruit
      • Bring plenty of water, swim noodles/cushions, and water shoes
  • Open Regatta: Governor's Cup Regatta
    • Catalina Cruisers and Racers are invited to participate in the Austin Yacht Club's 2010 Governor's Cup on beautiful Lake Travis. This year's event is planned to provide lots of fun racing and entertainment and also to support the AYC Fund, whose mission is to support junior and adult learn-to-sail programs in Austin.  It'll be a lot of fun for anyone who loves sailing.
    • When: September 25 and 26
    • Where: Austin Yacht Club
    • The Regatta web site has details on the schedule, freebies, and who is racing
    • Contact John Gr if you have questions. It's possible that fleet members will be looking for crew.
Announcements: 
  • Free Dues! The fleet member who brings in the most NEW members during 2010 will receive their 2011 dues for free!
  • Interested in sailing in a Flotilla in the British Virgin Islands? One boat has been filled and you're welcomed to charter a boat and join the group. Each boat will sail independently during the day, and meet up in the evening for dinner at a pre-determined island. The BVIs are fun for sailors of all levels. Contact Gary for details.
